Flexible Farmer Workshop

Lydia Sivel-Irons is passionate about the new era of farming and the values of sustainable living. She is the owner of Flexible Farmer Massage in Hadley, MA and is coming to Amherst to share her Protecting your Working Body, Injury Prevention and Body Mechanics for the long term workshop.
This 90-minute workshop covers:

  • Functional anatomy (what everyone should know about their body)
  • The Four Rules for good body mechanics (economy of movement, protecting joint space, assessing the task and body positioning)
  • Injury prevention tips (how to warm up, maintain and restore from the work you do)
  • How to maintain the overall health of the working body and care tips for problem places
  • Handouts and Q&A

Field Trip to Soul Fire Farm 

7 am - 5 pm

Join Book & Plow on a trip to Soul Fire Farm to take part in a community work day. We have limited space in the van so please RSVP only if you actually intend on joining us. We will be farming for part of the day at Soul Fire Farm followed by a potluck lunch. Kaylee and Maida will provide the potluck food.
